Work Weekend
What is Work Weekend?
We hold two work weekend events the weekends leading up to the beginning of the camp season. It is an overnight volunteer opportunity and chance to give back to camp! We prepare all camp villages for the summer season with the help of you all.
There is no cost to participate, it is completely voluntarily.
Most volunteer tasks will include light physical work such as raking, cleaning, and painting, and participants should be able to engage in these activities independently.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can volunteer?
This event is open to the public! You do not have to be affiliated with the YMCA or member of any club to participate.
- Can I volunteer if I am a teen?
Yes! You do not have to be 18+ to attend but minors do have to
be accompanied by an adult. - If I have younger kids, can I bring them?
Families with younger members are welcome to attend. However, we ask that you use your best judgment when bringing kids. This volunteer event will involve large moving vehicles, heavy equipment, debris, and active work areas, so the environment may not be suitable or safe for small children.
Do I have to participate during both weekends?
No, when filling the sign-up sheet, you will check the weekend you want to attend. But if you would like to attend both we more than welcome it!
- Do I have to stay overnight or the whole weekend?
No, you don’t have to! If you live in the area, you can go home
and drive back up for the next day. If you can only join us for
one day that is okay too!
