COMMUNITY SK8 CAMPS

YMCA Skate Camp doesn’t have an age cap; it grows with you.

Skateboarding brings people together, and Sequoia Lake gives room to breathe.
We’ve intentionally grown our programs to include dedicated space for families, adults, and marginalized communities, because spending time in nature shouldn’t be limited. When you arrive at Sequoia Lake, you step into a place where life slows down and everyday stress starts to fade. It’s a space for real connection, quiet moments, and embracing yourself.

Here, you’re welcome just as you are, free from pressure or judgment. Whether you come on your own or with the people you love, YMCA Skate Camp offers space to relax, play, and reconnect.

Family Reunion

Dates: August 3 – August 7
Monday – Friday

A new offering for 2026 Family Reunion is for everyone – family, chosen family, friend groups, and beyond. With an emphasis on play, rest and connection in nature.
All ages and all identities are welcome whether you skateboard or not. This week focuses on disconnecting from service and reconnecting with the people you love.

Women &/or Trans (WT)

Dates: August 12 – August 16
Wednesday – Sunday

This space is hosted by a collective of community skate groups, offering a safe and supportive space to skate, swim, hike, and unwind—without the distractions of cell service or Wi-Fi. For women, trans, femme and/or non-binary skateboarders, ages 18+. Whether you come solo or with a crew, you will leave camp with the best memories and a new community.

What are Community Camps?

Community Camps are new 2026 offerings at YMCA Camp Sequoia Lake, taking place at Millwood Camp and hosted in partnership with community groups from across North America. The 2 offerings, Women &/or Trans Week and Family Reunion Week — are designed to bring people together around shared identity, relationships, and values, blending optional activities like skateboarding, swimming, hiking, arts, and rest with plenty of space to simply exist. The heart of Community Camps is inclusivity, connection, empowerment, kindness, unplugging from technology, and making time for both play and restoration in nature, so everyone can show up as they are and leave feeling grounded and re-energized.

What is the difference between WT and Family Reunion Week? Which camp is right for me?

Women &/or Trans (WT) Week is a community-focused camp for women, trans, and non-binary adults (18+) who want to connect, try new things, and build confidence — with daily activities and skateboarding lessons woven into each day. Family Reunion Week is open to all ages, identities, and families — whether you skateboard or not — and is designed as a more relaxed, choose-your-own-adventure experience with loved ones, offering plenty of optional activities like swimming, hiking, sports, arts & crafts, and time to rest, but no formal skate lessons. If you identify as a woman and/or trans person looking to skateboard, grow, and share new experiences in a supportive space, WT Week is likely your fit; if you want an inclusive, flexible nature retreat centered on connection, play, and downtime with family or chosen family, Family Reunion Week is for you.
